La Conner was once an important shipping hub on the Swinomish channel, and fed the hunger of the logging industry for Everett and Seattle to the south. In 1883, the town of La Conner was the largest settlement in Skagit County! La Conner has retained its turn-of-the-century charm. Historic 1st Street is alive with hotels, restaurants and other establishments that are well over 100 years old. La Conner is known world-wide for its diverse antique and fine arts stores, fine dining, and bed-and-breakfast establishments that give this community distinctive charm. It's also home to three museums. The La Conner Marina offers year-round affordable moorage - with a friendly "small town" atmosphere. In fact, it's where we keep our sailboat moored. We have found this full-service marina to be a delight - truly, a little-known jewel of the Pacific Northwest. Real Estate can be tricky to find in downtown La Conner. After all, this city can only boast a population of about 800. As of January, 2006, the median price for a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home was $465,000. Shelter Bay homes are a much better value, but are on leased land. Call us for details. Jim Wolcott, Kellie Wolcott, and Richard Perez are all full-time Realtors.
